Summer Reading Club
Children’s Summer Reading Club
Summer Reading Club is a free program that encourages children to continue reading over the summer break by offering fun and educational enrichment activities. Generously sponsored by the United Way of Whiteside County, SRC is open to children entering preschool through 8th grade. Registration is REQUIRED.
2025’s Summer Reading Club theme is “Level Up at Your Library!” Play is one the many ways kids learn and grow and we can’t wait to game it up this summer! Readers will enjoy a summer of classic board games, card games, video games, and puzzles. Play helps us think in new ways, relate to others, and foster friendships.
As in years past, materials for an art project, science experiment, etc. will be available for pickup at the beginning of each week. In addition, we have a Story Walk, BINGO board, game nights, and a few other surprises planned to keep your readers active! The first day for pickup will be Monday, June 16th with new to-go activities over the next 5 weeks. Readers have the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes and each child is guaranteed to take home free books at the end of the summer! A full schedule will be announced in June!
In an effort to reduce paper waste, we have gone completely digital with our registration. If you need assistance, call us at 815-772-7323 or email krider.odell@gmail.com.
- Registration deadline is Saturday, June 1st so that we have enough time to order and prepare materials. https://forms.gle/WCQwBYNctLRgyrmC8
