Odell Public Library is closely monitoring the COVID-19/Coronavirus situation to ensure that we take appropriate precautions for the health of our staff and the community at large. We are sanitizing surfaces as frequently as we are able and providing hand sanitizing stations throughout the library. We are looking to other library systems across the country as well as our local school systems for best practices and will update the community of any changes to our programming or open hours.

Remember, you can always renew materials via phone (815-772-7323) or web (login to your account at search.prairiecat.info). Library card holders also have access to a great number of electronic resources that can be accessed anywhere 24/7.

While risk of infection in our area is currently low, the CDC recommends you take the following common sense precautions to protect against exposure:

  • Wash your hands often and for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home if you are sick / Keep your children home if they are sick
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue
